Karioi classes have been developing chants for our team to deliver at inter maunga (mountain) events, this is just one example of the excellent chants that we are looking at adopting. The chant was created for Karioi by Whaea Mana in Rm 1 (who incidentally is the "Queen of Chants"), here is her class giving a demo...Nga mihi nu nui Whaea Mana!
Tiki Taiaha Logo
This is our beautiful mural in the foyer of Rooms 10 and 11. It represents our two e-Learning classes, Year 7 Tikis and Year 8 Taiaha. The words are our School values. The blue and red respectively represent our Maunga Karioi (Rm 10) and Pirongia (Rm 11). It was painted by Matua Brady Walker, a young and talented self taught artist who translated our vision onto canvas - ATAAHUA!

HBHS 1st XV Rugby Visit
On Monday 23rd May, our school was delighted to welcome the Sanix World 1st XV 2011 Rugby Champions Hamilton Boys High School! The imposing figures of these young men dressed in their No.1's certainly made an impact on our Tauira (students). Three of the current team members were ex Peachgrove pupils including their Captain. Both the Coach and the Captain spoke proudly of the boys and the hard work that went into their build up to the tournament which was held in Japan last term. This is the second year in a row that the team has won this prestigious title. The boys then performed an amusing SKIT followed by a passionate haka and the HBHS school anthem. Ka mau te wehi tama toa!

Room 7 Karioi Team
Since the beginning of Term 1, Room 7 (Karioi Year 8 class) have been busy fundraising for the Christchurch Earthquake appeal. They have organised movies at lunchtime, sausage sizzles, cake stalls and a very successful Garage Sale which was held on Saturday the 7th May. Miss Doig and her fantastic students are true advocates of our school motto "Tuatahi, Kia marama Ki te Manaaki" which is "First Learn to Serve".
Year 7 Camp 2011
At the end of Term 1 Room 10 joined other students from Karioi maunga and Maungatautari maunga at our annual Year 7 Camp. The camp was located in Ngaruawahia at the Christian Youth Camp. A fantastic time was had by all. This is just a snipet of what happened at Camp.
